Armstrong Number in Java: Armstrong number is a number that is equal to the sum of cubes of its digits for example 0, 1, 153, 370, 371, 407 etc.
Let's try to understand why 153 is an Armstrong number.
- 153 = (1*1*1)+(5*5*5)+(3*3*3)
- where:
- (1*1*1)=1
- (5*5*5)=125
- (3*3*3)=27
- So:
- 1+125+27=153
Let's see the java program to check Armstrong Number.
- class ArmstrongExample{
- public static void main(String[] args) {
- int c=0,a,temp;
- int n=153;//It is the number to check armstrong
- temp=n;
- while(n>0)
- {
- a=n%10;
- n=n/10;
- c=c+(a*a*a);
- }
- if(temp==c)
- System.out.println("armstrong number");
- else
- System.out.println("Not armstrong number");
- }
- }
Output:
armstrong number
